Approved Courses for the Scholarship

The University of Ottawa scholarship for African students studying in the English language is only for applicants who enroll in:

  1. Chemical engineering and civil engineering in the faculty of engineering
  2. Sociology, Anthropology, International Development and Globalization, Conflict Studies, and Public Administration in the Faculty of Social Sciences
  3. All programs except the joint honors BSc in Biochemistry/BASc in Chemical Engineering (Biotechnology); the joint honors BSc in Physics/BASc in Electrical Engineering; and the honors BSc in Ophthalmic Medical Technology are covered in the faculty of science.

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship usually comes in the form of a reduction in your tuition fee.

It is important to note that the scholarship does not cover expenses like feeding, accommodation, and clothing.

The scholarship amount depends on the faculty that you are planning to study:

  1. For the faculty of engineering, the scholarship amount ranges from $20,000 to $25,000 yearly.
  2. For the faculty of science, the scholarship amount ranges from $12,500 to $17,500 yearly.
  3. For the faculty of social sciences, the scholarship amount ranges from $12,500 to $17,500 yearly.
